The Catholic faithful of Guam are mourning the passing of a dear and faithful servant of God, Deacon Louis John Rama of Nuestra Señora de las Aguas Catholic Church in Mongmong.
Deacon Rama died March 14 at the age of 72. He was born and raised in Ulithi before moving to Guam. Deacon Rama is survived by his wife Joanna, two children and three grandchildren.
Mass and Rosary are being offered at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday, ending on March 22 at Nuestra Señora De Las Aguas – Our Lady of the Waters – in Mongmong. Last respects will be announced at a later date.

A kind and gentle man who was very dedicated to serving our Lord and the Church, Deacon Rama faithfully carried out his vocation as a permanent deacon in the archdiocese for 20 years. He was among 12 men ordained to the archdiocese’s permanent diaconate program on Aug. 16, 2003. Deacon Rama was assigned to Mongmong parish the very next day on Aug. 17 and served there devoutly until his time of death.
