The public health emergency surrounding COVID-19 has caused an increase in individuals and families seeking assistance for food and other essential needs. The Archdiocese’s Ministry to the Homeless, through its Kusina, is ensuring that everyone who comes to their doors are provided with “Balutan Bags” of non-perishable food. No one is turned away.
During the Lenten Season, the parishioners of Saint Anthony and Saint Victor made almsgivings to benefit Kusina. Through Mr. Ed Ilao, the Andrea R. Ilao Foundation graciously matched the funds collected by the parishioners. The combined funds were then used to purchase non-perishable food items to assist Kusina in meeting the growing needs of the community. Mr. Pete R. Sgro Jr. facilitated the wholesale purchase of the items. Si Yu’os Ma’ase’ and God bless everyone involved in this timely gift for those in need.
