Archdiocesan Finance Office as canonically established shall assist the Archbishop in his administration of ecclesiastical goods of the Church and in accord with the norm of law. Its further mission is to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and provide oversight and guidance of all expenditures and revenue collections in order to successfully present sustainable and sound financial reporting.

Activities and Services that Supports its Mission includes:

• Provides accounting and reporting of financial activities of the Chancery offices.

• Coordinates the financial reporting of parishes, schools, and affiliate entities.

• Ensure that the annual budgeting process is being undertaken by Chancery offices, parishes & schools.

• Provide payroll processing services for all chancery staff including parish religious and laity.

• Provide bookkeeping services for parish and school that seek assistance for back-office accounting support.

• Conduct a continuing internal review of the parish, school, and affiliate entity reports.

• Facilitate an external accountant review of chancery, parishes, and schools by an outside accounting firm.

Continuing Initiatives and Accomplishments:

• Effectively employ technology and resources to improve, standardize, streamline, and automate processes.

• Create a written document outlining office procedures, update financial policies, standard operating procedures (SOP), relevant forms, and utilize best practice model for documented and sustainable knowledge base.

• Provide leadership in delivering proactive financial reports that encompass sound financial controls, effective and efficient use of resources, fiscal conservatism, and compliance.

• Provide an acknowledged environment of transparency and open information sharing.

• Review of existing structure related to finances for opportunities to streamline and simplify.

• Provide excellent customer service through the implementation of best practices that are fair, consistent, predictable, and with a strong emphasis on accountability.

• Collaborate, communicate continuous process improvements, professional development, and cross-train all finance staff in carrying key duties of the office.
