The Archdiocese of Agana sheltered with the rest of the island as tropical storm Kammuri passed Guam without much damage Wed. Nov. 27. Since Guam was placed in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 classes were cancelled for Wednesday at our Catholic schools. We give thanks to God for keeping our island safe. Prayers for all others in the Marianas and elsewhere that might be in the path of Kammuri.

Archbishop Michael Byrnes was among the bishops of the Episcopal Conference of the Pacific (CEPAC) whom Pope Francis welcomed recently as part of their “ad limina” visit in Rome recently. The pope held a private audience with the bishops of Oceania in his private library at the Apostolic Palace on September 30, 2019. Bishop Ryan Jimenez of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa was also part of the ad limina visit.

The Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission will hold a Liturgical Conference from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic School and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tamuning. The theme of the Liturgical Conference is “This is my Body”. The focus will be on the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Registration fee is $15 from Oct. 9 until Nov. 18. Registration forms will be available at all parish offices.
